Within the frame of the Land Degradation Neutrality’s project, an awareness campaign to #STOP_FIRES under the slogan ‘Together, we can stop disastrous wild fires’ was launched in Spring 2022.
It was addressed to the public at large, communities and municipalities with a strategy of 5 components: understanding fire risk information, contributing to reducing fire risk, improving readiness before fire occurrence, know how to respond to a fire and assist in the restoration of burnt lands.
This project is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Land Degradation Neutrality’s (LDN) mission is to work with rural communities, the private sector, civil society and local authorities in Lebanon with the goal of reviving and rehabilitating mountain landscapes and lands, limiting pressures on the environment and improving economic opportunities for rural communities.
